Pedagogical Documentation

Title: Exploring Our Train Journey Theme

This documentation shows how children explored our train-journey theme through open-ended materials and conversations. I used photos, quotes, and observations to extend their ideas into dramatic play and literacy activities. This reflects my philosophy that children are capable learners and that documentation helps make their thinking visible.

Learning Story

Title: Creating Our Classroom “Travel Stations”

I chose this learning story because it captures how children worked together to design travel stations using maps, tickets, and props. Their ideas guided the entire experience, showing true emergent curriculum. This aligns with my belief in child-led learning and the Reggio Emilia idea of co-learning with children.

Title: Community Walk to the Park

I included this community walk because it connects children to their neighbourhood and builds belonging. It responded to their interest in buildings, nature, and outdoor spaces. This plan reflects my philosophy that learning extends beyond the classroom and that community experiences enrich children’s understanding.
